A Letter From Callan

Dear Neighbours and Friends,

It’s a pleasure to meet you and I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to get to know a little more about me.

I have been so fortunate to have lived in this amazing city for the past 23 years. I grew up here, attended both Moody Middle and Moody Senior Secondary School, and then bought my first home in beautiful Newport Village.  I met my wonderful wife Jessica at Golden Spike Days when I was 20 years old so you could say my connection to Port Moody runs deep.

Some of you may recognize me from my run for city council in 2014, or my involvement with Port Moody Lacrosse for the past 7 years. But I think most may know of the local business my wife and I own called Squish Juicery.  We have been proud active contributors on our local city committees. We love to support our local charities, Port Moody youth sports associations, and are strong advocates of shopping and supporting local businesses.

I truly believe that we live in the best city in the world, but I believe that our current council needs some major change to help it make our city even better. Our residents need a council that is devoted to putting Port Moody Residents First!  We need a council that is committed to restoring our residents confidence in their ability too look out for you and your family, and has the vision to plan for the future. A council with responsible policies surrounding the environment, housing affordability, and spending.

I feel it is time your voices are heard and taken seriously, and it’s time your council started working collaboratively towards goals that are in the best interest of you, your family, and all of Port Moody.

I truly believe that with your support, and your vote on October 15th I can be a part of positive change on council. I can be a part of helping to grow our local small business community, help bring back fiscal responsibility to your city budgets and increasing tax bills, and help promote more affordable living options within our city that allows our children to grow up in the city they were raised, and our seniors the opportunity to retire and age in the city that we all love.

I promise to bring accountability, dedication, and honesty to Port Moody City Council and I know with your help we can make positive change happen together.

- Callan Morrison, Port Moody City Council Candidate
